VIOLET WINNIFRED LOADER (nee OLIVER) April 16, 1927 December 16, 2010 Passed away peacefully at the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home with her daughter Susan at her side as she completed her journey and went home. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children Bill (Dolly), Steve (Arlene), Charlie (Rebecca), Susan (Marc) and her grandchildren, Rick Loader (Wendy), Michelle Loader, Charwin and Ashley Dahl, and Robert and Sarah Loader. She will also be missed by her only brother, Arthur Oliver, and her sister-in-law Agnes Rewucki (Ed). Mom was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, her parents Alfred and Winnifred Oliver, her parents-in-law, William and Charlotte Loader, her sister-in-law, Dorie Oliver, and her great-nephew, Jeffrey Oliver. Mom was a beautiful, hardworking, selfless lady who always put her family first. She raised three sons and a daughter with much help from her parents and parents-in-law. She worked at Greater Winnipeg Gas (Manitoba Hydro) for 28 years where she enjoyed many work friendships. Mom was the primary care giver to our grandfather, Alfred, and to our Dad who had Parkinson's for nearly 19 years. Mom was his primary care giver for 17 of those years. When Mom's eyesight and health began to decline, she moved to Dakota House (Assisted Living) in July 2006. As her needs increased, she moved to the Thorvaldson Care Center (Intermediate Care) in March 2008. In August 2009 Mom moved to Tuxedo Villa where she remained until her passing. Mom bowled for many years in the Greater Winnipeg Gas Bowling League. She also curled for many years at the St. Vital Curling Club. Mom greatly enjoyed these activities and the times she spent with friends. She loved times spent with family. She truly enjoyed family get togethers for birthdays and holidays. Her grandchildren brightened her life immensely. Mom loved to knit and we will continue to enjoy her afghans, mittens, toques, and wash cloths for many years to come. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Tuesday, December 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Thomson Funeral Home located at 669 Broadway Avenue. A private family interment will take place at a later date. If friends desire donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, Room 302-171 Donald St. Winnipeg R3C 1M4. As the world turns we remember who we are, Human lives that live to go far, And far we go, for everyday we grow up more, to see our grandchildren play. We live our lives to the fullest they can be, so when the time comes, we're satisfied with whom we may be And when that time comes, and we're ready to go, do not worry, because we're just going home.
