CAROL RUTH BATCHELOR-DUNDAS With much sadness we announce the passing of Carol Batchelor-Dundas, peacefully, in the comfort of her home, with her husband by her side, on December 17, 2010. She was part of a very close and loving family. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 35 years, Angus, children Jennifer (Tom) and Jonathan (Susan), grandson Spencer, brothers Bryon (Helene), Richard (Cheryl), Laird (Janet), and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles as well as extended family and friends. Carol was predeceased by her parents Norman and Margaret Batchelor, Aunt Ruth Whitford (nee Gustafson), aunts, uncles and cousins. Carol was born on September 26, 1950, and grew up in East Kildonan. In married life, Angus and Carol split their time between their home in St Vital and the farm near Arnaud. She caught the travel bug right out of high school, meeting her lifelong friend Linda in England. She continued to travel throughout her life, circling the globe and sharing this joy with Angus, Jennifer, Jonathan, family and friends. Carol enjoyed a successful and fulfilling career with the Bank of Montreal. She gained much satisfaction by giving back to the community through volunteer work, most significantly with Run for the Cure. As well as traveling and volunteering, she kept herself busy in retirement with golf, curling, the YMCA and gardening. Many great and lasting friendships developed along the way. Carol took joy in many things, and her characteristic laugh, even when heard from a far, was always her own. Memorial service will take place at John Black United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy., Thursday, December 23, 2010 at noon. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be to CBCF Run for the Cure (www.runforthecure.com) or to a charity of your choice.
