LUCIEN LABELLE Peacefully, with his loving wife Susan by his side, Lucien went to meet his Lord and Creator on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the age of 76. Lucien is predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Claire (nee Verrier); his brothers, Louis Joseph and Denis; his sister Angeline Berard; his sisters-in-law: Marie, Yvette and Therese; two nephews, Marc Hebert and Jean Pierre Frechette; his parents-in-law, Abram and Helen Bartel; and a sister-in-law Della Pott. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife Susan (Bartel); his brothers and sisters: Eugene, Edmond (Helene), Henri (Natchar), Therese Frechette (Roger), Rose Marie Caligiuri (Domenic), Margo Hebert (Louis), Gus (Hilde); his sister-in-law Kathy Penner and brothers-in-law, David Bartel (Marie), Albert Pott and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lou married Sue, the love of his life (my young lady) in August 1969. They lived in St. Pierre and after a few moves, they made Grunthal their home and now Winnipeg. Lou was a farmer for many years; then he worked in different places as a trucker mostly. They both enjoyed camping and fishing especially in Buffalo Point. Sue wishes to extend a special thank you to all the family, friends and also the hospital personnel on the 6th floor at the St. Boniface General Hospital. A memorial mass celebrating Lucien's life will be held on Wednesday, December 22 at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Family Parish, 778 Archibald Street with Father Ron Leger officiating. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Lou's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
