Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL COLLINS MURPHY November 12, 1951 - December 17, 2010 Peacefully, surrounded by family Michael found his final freedom. Michael was born at home in Northern Ireland and came to Canada in 1959 with his Mother and six of his siblings to begin a new life Despite not finishing a formal education, Michael was highly intelligent. He loved sports particularly horse racing, reading, and gathering knowledge; which he did voraciously. A favourite activity of Michael's was doing crosswords - which rarely went unfinished. Michael's other passion was music with a special affinity for the Pogues. Through his life, Michael touched many lives in many ways. Young children and the elderly brought out the best in Michael. Each of us carries special memories of Michael that will make us cry, smile or laugh, which will help us through these sad days. Michael is survived by his wife Janice; daughter Kaitlin; mother Winnie; father James; siblings: Anne (Oliver); Margo; Ed (Susan); Jim (Louise); Maria Goretti; George (Christine); Brendan; Sheilagh (Norbert); Sean (Lynn); Paul, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial to celebrate Michael's life will be held at the King's Head Pub and Eatery, 120 King St., Wednesday December 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. The family is requesting that anyone who wants to make a donation in Michael's memory do so to the Agape Table Inc., P.O.
