Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELFRIEDE KIRCHNER With great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Elfriede Kirchner on December 17, 2010 with her family at her side. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Elfriede was born October 26, 1928 in Germany where she was married and came to Canada in 1955 to start a new life in Winnipeg. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family. Elfriede was especially proud of her backyard, which looked like a park in the summer. She loved to meet with friends at the mall for coffee, and always had a smile and kind word for everyone. Above all, Elfriede loved to dance. Her feet were always moving to a good time. Later in life she became an avid fisherman, becoming a master angler at 78. She was always happy when she caught a fish bigger than her partner's. Elfriede loved playing cards and looked forward to laughing and joking with her friends on Friday card nights. Special thanks to the palliative nurses who helped to enable her to spend her final days at home which is where she wanted to be. Upon Elfriede's request there will be no formal ceremony following her passing. Rest in peace until we meet again
