ERLINDA MAGPANTAY ARANEZ It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Erlinda Magpantay Aranez on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the age of 61. She will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Linda was born on December 19, 1948 in Lipa City, Philippines. She came to Canada in 1968 to start a new life in Winnipeg. She married Roland Aranez on March 18, 1973 and had two children, Rochelle and Roa Aranez. She is survived by her children, brother Fransisco Magpantay, sister Flora Cuenca and her dogs, Harvey and Troy. Also survived by the families of Cuenca, Magpantay, Hernandez, Aranez, Silva, Macalintal, Dimaculangan and Yumang. We are all here today because of her courageous and selfless efforts to make Canada our new home. She was predeceased by her father Feliciano Magpantay, mother Claudia De Claro Magpantay, sisters Leonida Payo and Anita Magpantay and brothers Leonardo and Gregorio Magpantay. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family, dogs and serving for The Lord of Pardon. Lamay/viewing will take place on Thursday, December 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Cremation Cemetery Services, 1839 Inkster Blvd. 275-5555. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 24 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Edward's Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington St. Honourary pallbearers will be Roa Aranez, Melvin Magpantay, Ismael and Eric Hernandez, Marvin James Aranez, Noli Magpantay, Mario Macalintal, Noel Silva and Manny Aranez.
