GITTEL GOERTZEN July 27, 1943 - December 20, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gittel, our mother and friend at the age of 67 years. Gittel was predeceased by her daughter Heike, but will be remembered by her sons Guido (Lolly) and Mario, and grandchildren Josh, Andrew and Ashley. Mom was born in Germany and came to Canada in 1973. During her early years she ran a home care business and was also a spokeswoman for German Community Television. She later taught the German language, adult education and computers while living up north and continued to do so through her retirement. The family is grateful to the City of Winnipeg Police, Fire and Paramedics Services, all by-standers who helped on the scene, as well as all the staff at Voyage Funeral Home for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for their support. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010.
