Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN STARK We are saddened to announce the loss of our favourite aunt-ique', our Aunt Helen Stark, but we are grateful that after a long life well lived, she can finally rest. Helen Stark was born at home on the family farm near Morris on October 9, 1918. She passed away at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, on December 21, 2010. She was the second of four children born to Ludwig and Amalia Stark and was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Johanna, Edmund and Dina. Helen grew up on the farm and then moved to Winnipeg for employment. She was a self sufficient and self supporting woman whose career spanned domestic service, housekeeping and switchboard operator at the Hotel Fort Garry, Transair, Holiday Inn and the Province of Manitoba. She travelled extensively, visiting family and former workmates across Canada and the western U.S. Helen was strong willed and determined, with a razor sharp memory for the finest details and a knack for dispensing old-wives' tales, most of which had some actual value. She lived independently until about a year before her death at the age of 92. Her final birthday was celebrated this past October, and it was in her own words, the best birthday of my life! There were two things that were most important to Aunt Helen... her family and her faith. She was a life long member of Faith Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir and with the Lutheran Choral. She had an unwavering faith in God and we know that she is rejoicing that she has gone to glory . Besides her siblings and parents, Helen was also predeceased by her niece Elaine, her brother-in-law John and her sister-in-law Margaret. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. Traditional funeral service will be held on Monday, December 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations may be made in Helen's memory to Faith Lutheran Church or a charity of their choice. Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

Cousin Helen as she was affectionately called by the Alfred and Anne Stark Family would sweep in her grandness and visit with us. For years, she and I would correspond when she lived on Rosebury Street(?)in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She would also visit the Snell family, which were related to her mother, Amaelia Snell Stark. My mother enjoyed the effort Helen made to keep close contact with her cousins. When my mother worked/trained to be a Registered Nurse at the Steinbach hospital, Helen tracked down my mother, Anne to introduce her and welcome her to the Stark family. She was an elegant and grand lady. Please contact at redwingsnflight@telus.net to keep the family together and fulfil Cousin Helen's wish. Always, Carlyn Stark. - Posted by: Carlyn Stark Van Mil (My father's paternal cousin: Alfred Stark of the Fraser Valley, BC) on: Feb 19, 2012
