EVELYN LITKE Evelyn passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on December 22, 2010 at the Poseidon Care Centre at the age of 90 years. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Gayle Smith; Grandchildren, Daryl Smith (Leona), Rhonda Harder (Leighton), Mandy Kwasnica (Ryan); Great-Grandchildren, Jordan, Bryce, and Coral Harder as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her precious son-in-law Don Smith, sisters Emma, Lena, Edith, Violet and Elsie; and brothers, Albert, Edward, Alex and Harry. Gayle was her only child whom she loved and cared for deeply. Evelyn worked really hard to provide a good life for the two of them. Evelyn was known best for her baking and genuine hospitality. No one ever left her home hungry. When her grandchildren were young, one of her greatest joys was to have them over for sleepovers and to play cards with them. It was at this time of year that she thoroughly enjoyed making Gingerbread houses, Yule logs, and cookies for all to enjoy. These memories will be cherished forever. Faith was always a big part of Evelyn's life. She loved listening to gospel music. Those who spent time with her felt the warm reassurance of her love and the comfort of her prayers. A Private Celebration of Life Service will take place at a later date. Donations in Evelyn's memory can be made to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association whom Evelyn was a faithful supporter of. Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions.
