Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORNELIUS D. BROESKY 1924 - 2010 Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB. He will be lovingly remembered by Mary his wife of 63 years; his children, Norman (Louise), Wilma (Grant), Virna (Ernie), Ernie (Leslie), Len (Debbie), Floyd (Louise), Neil (Sherry), Art, Lola (Fred); 29 grandchildren and their spouses; 30 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Peter, Frank (Ann), Ed (Margaret), George; four sisters, Maria, Agatha, Susan (Ike) Zacharias and Lenora (Andrew) Gauthier; sisters-in-law, Agatha, Joyce and Agathe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son-in-law Paul Bell; one grandson Tyler Broesky; his parents, Abram F. and Maria Broesky; as well as brothers, John Broesky and sister-in-law Justina Broesky, Abe (Annie) Broesky, Martin, Dave, Jake; sisters, Anna (Bill) Toews, Margaret (John) Broesky; sisters-in-law, Agatha and May; brothers-in-law, Abram P. Dueck, David Vogt and Abram D. Dueck. Cornelius was born May 30, 1924 in the RM of Hanover and grew up there. After a brief time in the army during the Second World War, he married Mary Martens in 1947. The first few years they lived in various places. In 1953 they bought land east of La Broquerie and built a house there. This is where they lived and raised their nine children. In 1986 they sold the farm and moved into La Broquerie where they lived until his death. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach with viewing at the chapel prior to the service. Interment at Heritage Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Bethesda Hospital.
