HANNELORE ANNA AUGUSTE MANN (nee HENNING) With much sadness we announce the passing of Hannelore on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 76 years. Remaining to cherish Hannelore's memory is her loving husband Siegfried Mann; daughter Margit (Mike); granddaughter Orysa, all in Winnipeg; son Volker (Gloria); granddaughter Caley (Jordan); great-grandchildren Ezra and Petra; granddaughter Alanna (Kevin); and great-granddaughter Noah, who all reside in British Columbia. Hannelore was born June 27, 1934 in Urbach, Germany. She was able to escape East Germany prior to the building of the wall at age 19, and moved in with her aunt in Dortmund. While living there, she met and married her husband Siegfried in November 1956. They immigrated with their children, Margit and Volker in May 1965 to Winnipeg. Hannelore and Siegfried just recently celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary. On Wednesday, December 29, 2010 a Celebration of Hannelore's (or Oma as she was known to many) Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, 370 McKenzie Street at College Avenue. Interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. The family would like to thank all the staff initially at the Health Sciences Centre then later ICU as well as the 3rd floor care givers at Concordia Hospital for making Hannelore's final days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hannelore's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
