EDITH GRAHAM (nee ANDERSON) With sad hearts and wonderful memories we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Edith on December 21, 2010 at the age of 97 years. Edith was predeceased by her husband Dave in 1997, sisters Grace, Evelyn, Lillian, June, Dorothy and brothers Eric, Herb, Carl, and Emile. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted daughters Barbara (Ron Pfleger), Lorraine Barnett (Terry), grandsons Kurt, Jay, and Tyson as well as many nieces and nephews. Edith was born in Winnipeg to John and Hulda Anderson, the third child in a family of ten siblings. She has now gone on to join them all. Many of her happiest days were spent at the family cottage at Matlock where Edith welcomed her extended family for many years. Edith was a talented seamstress. In her early years, she taught sewing at the CNIB. She continued her craft as long as she was able: outfitting her girls and family, sewing quilts for Knox United Church and in later years volunteering her skills to supply the Grace Hospital Auxiliary with her many crafts. Mom has called St. James her home since 1953. She maintained her independence in the family home until her move into The Westhaven where she enjoyed renewing old friendships and making new ones. Her last four years were spent at Golden West Centennial Lodge where she was loved and well cared for. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the staff who made these last years special. Mom was always the ultimate homemaker and caregiver, she nurtured us all. Her sweet, gentle spirit remained to the end and did not fade through life's adversities. Rest in peace Mom, we were blessed to have you with us for so long. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on, Wednesday, December 29 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery).
