JOHN RICHOL Peacefully on his 97th birthday, Dad passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at the Charleswood Care Centre with Dennis and Gena by his side. Remaining to forever cherish John's memory is his daughter, Virginia (Gena); son-in-law and best buddy Dennis; as well as nephews and nieces John, Ken, Joan, June, and Janice and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Sylvia; parents Stephan and Michaelena; brother and sister-in-law Paul and Stella; sister and brother-in-law Pauline and John; as well as step-sister and brother-in-law Stella and Jack. Dad was born in Winnipeg and lived his whole life here. He spent his entire working career of over 50 years at the Hotel Fort Garry in the food services area. After work, he could be seen tending to his gardens, and took great pride in his vegetable garden and his yard full of flowers. Everyone would say John was a nice man, and he was well liked and respected. Since he could build or fix anything, if Dad wasn't in his garden, he would be helping a neighbor build a fence, storage shed, garage, or in his own garage working on something that needed repairs. Dad loved our fishing trips, traveling, and Wednesday chicken nights . After a bad fall, Dad moved to the Charleswood Care Centre. We would like to thank both Dr. Shing and the wonderful staff at the home for their care and compassion over the last five years. We would also like to thank John and Pat Slobodian as well as Wally and Virginia Woronowski for all their visits and the goodies they brought Dad. In compliance with Dad's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Dad will be laid to rest beside Mom where a private family graveside service will be held in All Saints Cemetery, 4535 Main Street, Winnipeg. We'll miss you, Dad But we'll cherish our wonderful memories always.
