Date of Passing: Dec 22, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATTHEW AARON FRIESEN 1986 - 2010 Suddenly on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, Matthew Friesen passed away at his home at the tender age of 24. He is survived by his beloved girlfriend Danielle, parents Art and Cindy, brothers Mike (Heather), Dan (Wendy and nephew Reid), Kelly (Lisa), Paul (Amber), and sister Donna (Terry). In his early years Matt had happy memories of Jack River School and his friends in Norway House. When the family moved to Winnipeg he attended Stevenson-Britannia, George Waters, John Taylor Collegiate and St. James Collegiate. He worked part-time at the Sals, 7 Eleven and Macs. Matt spent one year at the University of Manitoba before deciding to pursue his passion of Civil CAD Technology at Red River College. He did his work experience surveying with Arpin Meyer Construction and was asked to continue on with them after he graduated. Matt was looking forward to starting an exciting career with Lewis Instruments in January which would involve travel and demonstrating the sophisticated equipment he enjoyed. Those who spent time with him knew a paper napkin was a frequent chalkboard. Matt loved to go off-roading, fishing, and working out in the gym. He was in constant competition with his brother Paul to see who had the biggest biceps. He will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends for his keen sense of humour, positive outlook and his willingness to lend a hand. Those who wish may make a donation to a charity of their choice in Matt's name. Jim Loewen will officiate at the service on Thursday, December 30, 1:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. across from Brookside Cemetery. NEIL BARDAL INC.
