Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD GORDON LANTHIER November 3, 1943 - December 22, 2010 It is with great sadness Don's family announces his passing at St. Boniface Hospital. Don is survived by his wife Myrna and children: Lisa Bartlette (Dave), Kyle Wagner (Heather), Lyren Cherlet (Craig); grandchildren: Kaleigh, Tanner, Kayla, Saige; his brothers Larry (Edna) and Melvin (Karen); his sister June VanLancker (Raymond); nieces and nephews, as well as brothers-in-law Gary Walker (Diane) and Kerry Walker (Barb). He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and many friends. Don would want to mention the special friendships that were nurtured since his Holy Cross School days, endearingly referred to as the Norwood Boys . Too numerous to mention but, you know who you are! (Don't you, Ken Mackenzie). Holy Cross School is where Don received his education and also attended Nelson McIntyre Collegiate and spent many years as one of the Norwood Boys playing hockey for the Falcons and Champlain Community Club. Don retired in 2007 after 36 years of service with the Canadian Pacific Railway. His retirement allowed him to do what he loved most with his buddies and Myrna. In that order! That being the wonderful game of golf. For the last 15 years Don took his golf skills to Texas for the winter months where, even though he didn't qualify for any senior tour he was always more than willing to take your money for putts, skins or a beer. Don's Motto Live to Golf... Golf to Live A big thank you everyone for your heart-warming condolences. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg. In keeping with Don's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc St. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.
