Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILIE (MILLIE) GABLE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Dear Mother, Granny, Aunt and Friend. Mom passed away peacefully on December 20, 2010 at the age of 92. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Albert in 1996. They spent 56 wonderful years together. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter Janice Wolfe (Harvey). Grand-children, Kristy Proutt (Russell) of Sydney Australia and Greg Shippam (Beth Klassen) as well as five great-grandchildren Ethan, Chelsea, Carson, Amelia and Elliott. Mom was born and raised in North End Winnipeg and met Albert at a church youth group. They were married October 28, 1939. Millie began a career in retail at Hudson Bay Company in Winnipeg where she worked in the Georgian Room as a hostess. She loved meeting and greeting new people everyday and would be really excited when some of the local celebrities dined there. After several moves away from Winnipeg because of Albert's jobs they returned to Winnipeg and once again Millie became involved in retail as a sales clerk in the Lingerie Department at Eaton's Downtown. Granny and Papa could always be counted on to support both their grandchildren at their sporting events, especially figure skating for Kristy and hockey and soccer for Greg. Mom and Dad always loved to attend any school functions that involved their grandchildren, especially the band concerts. Mom was an avid reader, loved to play cards and Bingo and was a huge Blue Bomber fan. Later she developed a keen interest in curling and golf, which she loved to watch on TV. Mom and Dad also enjoyed taking trips together especially to Las Vegas to play a little Blackjack and after retiring spent several years travelling to Arizona in the winter. Just over two years ago Mom moved to Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts where she was very happy and met many wonderful new friends. Our family is very grateful to the wonderful caring staff and the truly great friends she met who enriched her last years. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Mom's wishes, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Rest in Peace Mom You Will Be Missed. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
