MARGARET MAY ADAMS 1927 - 2010 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret May Adams (nee Bell) at Victoria Hospital on December 22, 2010, in the presence of her daughter and good friend, Marjorie Clark. She was residing at Riverview Health Centre when her health took a sudden turn on Saturday, December 18, 2010. She expressed her wishes to be with her parents and her Lord. Margaret was born to William and Annie (Mellor) Bell on June 1, 1927, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the youngest of three children, living her whole life in Winnipeg, with her mother and then her loving husband, Robert Evis Adams, following their marriage on December 7, 1968. Margaret, known to many as Peggy Bell, worked for several years at Winnipeg Electric, and then for the family ironworks foundry, Bell Foundry. She retired' from being the office manager with the arrival of her daughter, Margo Anne, in October 1970. Margaret was a talented pianist and choral member. For many years she sang with the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Choir, making life-long friends, with whom she enjoyed many travels. She later made her church home at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, again singing in the choir for many years. Margaret also volunteered in libraries as an assistant, including many years at the Balmoral Hall School library. Mom was also known for her baking, particularly during the Christmas season. She prided herself in multitudes of goodies always shared with many friends and family. By far, Margaret's pride and joy, were her grandchildren, Camden Matthew (age 8) and Caleb Robert (age 5). She loved their visits and was enthralled by their activities. Their pictures adorned her room as did their artwork. Margaret's immediate family consists of her daughter Margo Adams Larsen (Bradley Larsen) and grandchildren, Camden and Caleb, all of Grand Forks, North Dakota; along with her good friend, whom she regarded as her sister, Marjorie Clark, of Winnipeg. Margaret is also survived by her sister-in-law Beryl Bell, of Winnipeg; nephew David Bell (Liz Fritsch), great-nephew Willie and great-niece Alex, all of Winnipeg; nephew Neil Gray, great-niece Jane (Shaw) MacMillan, of Delta, British Columbia and great-nephew Ross (Elizabeth) Gray, of Neuilly-sur-Seine, France; and five great-great-nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David and William; husband of 35 years, Robert; and niece Diane Gray. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at Neil Bardal, Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). The service will also be available on-line at www.nbardal.mb.ca. Interment will be at St. Johns Cemetery at a future date. Margaret's favourite charities included the Winnipeg Humane Society, Salvation Army, St. Amant Centre, Osborne House, St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation, and the Christmas Cheer Board. She would have preferred donations to those or other charities in lieu of flowers. NEIL BARDAL INC. FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
