Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNARD (BERT) RODWELL GILMORE March 6, 1915 December 25, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bert at George Derby Centre, Burnaby, BC. He will be greatly missed by his four sons Glenn (Alice) of Aurora, IL, David (Lila) of Maple Ridge, BC, Russell (Holly) of Mackenzie, BC, and Roy (Gail) of Kakabeka Falls, ON. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Bert was predeceased by his parents Albert and Minnie Gilmore, his wife Nancy, his daughter Judy, and his sister Bernice. He was born in Red Deer, AB and spent his youth in Kelwood, MB. Bert served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War; upon returning from Europe, he became a forest ranger in Manitoba. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was particularly fond of the game of cribbage, and he could always be talked into playing with his sons. Special thanks to the staff at George Derby Centre for their dedicated care for the past four years. There will be no service as per Bert's request.
