ROY JENNER At age 83 Roy Jenner passed peacefully into His Heavenly Father's Kingdom, in his wife Helen's loving arms, this Christmas Eve, December 24, 2010. Roy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen, three children Linda, Paulette, and Brian, sister Betty, grandchildren Edward, Andrea, Nicole and Sean, and great-grandchild Mason. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Jessie and Jack Jenner. Roy was born in Moose Jaw, SK and raised in Winnipeg, MB. He worked at United Grain Growers for 40 years, retiring at age 60. Roy loved his family and shared many happy years camping in tent, then trailer and later at the family cottage. Retirement brought new adventures on the road as Roy and Helen became snow-birds wintering in Arizona. Roy loved music and was a drummer and singer. In Arizona he joined the Desert Vista combo taking up his favourite hobby of drumming and singing like his father before him. Roy loved trains and enjoyed his hobby of model railroading. Always one for adventure, Roy was also part of a roller hockey team. Roy had a soft spot for animals: his household always had a variety of adopted animals from dogs, cats, bunnies and rodents to ducks and roosters; his current pets Chance and Ollie will miss him greatly. Roy was honoured for 60 years membership with the Winnipeg Musicians Association. He also served as a volunteer at Norberry Community Club. The family thanks the wonderful staff at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Ward for their support and kindness. A celebration of Roy's life will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Evangel Chapel, 1073 St. Mary's Rd. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roy's name to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Roy, God has you in His Keeping. We'll always have you in our Hearts.
