Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON BERNARD NAWORYNSKI Peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2010, Gordon Bernard Naworynski passed away at the age of 65. Gordon leaves to mourn his daughter Andrea, son-in-law Jeremy, grandsons Luke and Jamison, sister Elsie Grzenda, brother Ken (Pat), sister-in-law Gina Naworynski as well as brothers-in-law Edward (Anne) Podaima, Allan (Millie) Podaima and Wayne (Wendy) Podaima and numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Marianne, brother Joey, sister Adeline and parents Walter and Mary (nee Werbeski) Naworynski. Gordon was born in Gimli, MB on December 15, 1945 and grew up in Winnipeg Beach. Later in life, after beginning his working career at Canadian Pacific Railway in 1967, Gordon moved to Toronto for two years and then returned to Winnipeg where he met his future wife Marianne. They were married on October 14, 1972 and soon after moved back to Toronto where daughter Andrea was born. They returned to Winnipeg for good in 1974 and Gordon began his career as a chef with Via Rail in 1975, working there for 25 years until he retired at the age of 55 in the year 2000. Gordon had a great interest in older vehicles and had a special fondness for convertibles that he used to cruise the North End, his favourite part of Winnipeg. He still owned two convertibles that he had hoped to repair and refurbish. The family would like to thank members of the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service as well as staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for all their help. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon's memory to the charity of your choice.
