CARMELLE AUDETTE (nee GRATTON) With sad hearts and wonderful memories, we announce the peaceful passing of our mom Carmelle, on December 22, 2010 at the age of 75 years. Mom left us to join our beloved dad Jean-Paul, who predeceased her in 1998. Mom was the ultimate homemaker and caregiver; she will be lovingly remembered by us: Gilbert (wife Mona and children Dominic, Nicolas and Danica), Suzanne (husband Art Coulombe and children Michelle, Melissa and Eric), Donald (wife Josée and children Céleste and Lynette), and Patrick (and children Madeline and Isabelle). She was predeceased by her parents Armand and Berthe, and brother Gérard. She is survived by her sister Armande (Claude) and brothers Henri, Jean Guy (Denise), Louis (Jacqueline) and René (Ellen). She will be missed by all, along with dad's sisters and brothers and their spouses, many nieces and nephews, and friends. Mom was born and raised in Ste. Agathe. She fell in love with dad and they eventually set their roots in his hometown of St. Pierre-Jolys, where they raised their four children while running a Beatrice Foods distributorship for over 25 years. Mom was busy; she made sure we all had what we needed, cooked many amazing meals, baked special sweets, and looked after the bookkeeping for their business, alongside dad. Throughout her life she enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir. She and dad enjoyed visiting and travelling with family and friends. After selling the business in 1990, they became snowbirds and spent many winter months exploring Texas and Mexico, again enjoying the company of family and friends. After dad's passing in 1998, mom became even more involved with volunteering at the Boutique and volunteering with a group of ladies in preparing lunches for her parish's funerals. Mom's last three years were spent at the Villa Youville where she was well cared for. Our many thanks go out to the staff. Rest in peace Mom. We were blessed to have you in our lives. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the St. Pierre-Jolys Catholic Church with Fr. Antoine Vo Van Hoa presiding.
