MARION HISLOP September 11, 1929 - December 18, 2010 With sadness we announce the passing of Marion Hislop (nee Stewart) in her home at the age of 81, on December 18, 2010. Marion was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Viola Stewart, her husband Jack and two infant children. Marion was born and raised in Saskatoon. After graduation she worked at the University Hospital then the Sanatorium in Prince Albert where she met Jack Hislop. For the first few years they resided in Meath Park, SK and Prince Albert, SK. In the early 1960s work brought them to Thompson and then to Gillam, where she could always be found working at the Rec. Centre. In 1982 she moved back to Saskatoon to be closer to home. Here she spent countless hours volunteering for the Red Cross, Block Parents, Jazz Festival, and selling daffodils in the spring for the Cancer Society. In 2002 she was honoured with the Distinguished Service Award from the Red Cross and 2004 she was recognized by the City of Saskatoon for her volunteerism and dedication at City Hospital. This year she was awarded with a 50 year pin for her membership to the Eastern Star. Left to cherish her memory are her three children Mark (Joanne), Dave (Roxanne), Tracy (Kevin), her sister Fran (Peter) and brother Alex (Karol), a few nieces and nephews, and her grandchildren which she loved dearly and was extremely proud of Brandi, Jude, Vanessa, Marlee and Lauren. Marion was humble, loyal, and kind she got her strength from her faith at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where she loved singing in the choir, and her involvement with the WMS. She loved music, time with friends, her grand puppies and most importantly her family. She will be deeply missed. Interment and memorial service will be held at a later date.
