ANTHONY JOSEPH SIDLEY November 5, 1957- December 28, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anthony Joseph Sidley after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Tony passed away December 28, 2010 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 53. Tony was born to Rita and Joseph Sidley on November 5, 1957 in Winnipeg. He was the youngest of five children. Tony was employed for over 30 years with the Province of Manitoba, Infrastructure and Transportation where he was a supervisor until he took ill. In his younger years he loved to play hockey. He also loved fishing, hunting, golfing and travelling. He went on many Caribbean vacations with Varadero, Cuba being his favourite. Tony was predeceased by his parents, his sister Joanne Blyth, his brother John Sidley and his father-in-law Wally Henderson. Remaining to forever cherish his memory is his wife Karen, son Christopher (Anita), and daughter Michelle (Mackenzie) McCreight. He was a very proud grandfather to Hailey Sidley (8), Jaden McCreight (4) and Brady McCreight (1) whom he so adored. He is also survived by his brothers Paul (Joan) and David (Terry), sister-in-law Lydia Sidley, mother-in-law Lorna Henderson, brothers-in-law Michael (Vinod) Henderson, and Thomas (Barbara) Henderson. Additionally he is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Family was very important to Tony. For those of us who remain we have many, many memories to pull from for comfort. He lived his life with laughter, wisdom, love and a very quick wit. He was dearly loved and will be terribly missed by many, but will live on in our hearts and memories forever. The family wishes to thank the staff of ward 3 East, Riverview Health Centre for the compassionate care Tony received during the final days of his life as well as his home care nurse Marianne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, Riverview Medical Centre Palliative Care or a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Forever Loved, Never Forgotten
