Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH (KEN) JOHN CHANNON 1916 - 2010 With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ken at the age of 94 on Friday, December 17, 2010, at St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his son Ken (Leonie); daughter Linda Wilson (Rick Harrison); his grandchildren Nicole, Laura, Marcel, and Noel; great grandchildren Daniel, Parker, Hannah and Caden Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia in January 2008 and his brother Leonard. Ken was born in Ilfracombe, Devon, England, where he lived until he joined the Royal Air Force serving from 1940 to 1946. After the war he immigrated to Canada with his wife Patricia, and son Ken settling in Winnipeg where he lived for the remainder of his life. Ken spent many years of his working life in the Aerospace Industry employed with MacDonald Brothers Aircraft then Bristol Aerospace Ltd. beginning in 1951 until retirement. Ken was a very caring person who always provided support to his family. He showed great strength and always had a positive attitude. He enjoyed watercolour painting and spending a great deal of time outside in the garden. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the staff at Thorvaldson Care Home who provided loving care to our father and grandfather. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital at 5W and 4E for their effort in treating our father with the utmost respect. A service honouring his memory will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
