JESSE THOMAS ROGERS Peacefully, on December 29, 2010, Jesse Thomas Rogers passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 72. Tom was predeceased by his parents Reuben and Cora Rogers, younger brother Willy (Nellie) and grandson Tyler Ritchot. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara; his children, Richard, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Matthew, Tanya; stepchildren, Corinne, Jeffrey, Christopher, Lana; sisters, Evelyn (Bill) Appleton, Jean (Bill) Jonasson, Alice (Mike) Guntner; brother, Raymond (Elizabeth); 12 grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews. Tom worked as a truck driver his entire life. He began his career when he was still a teenager and eventually owned his own gravel truck. Before his retirement, he spent over 20 years as a truck driver for Assiniboia Downs Race Track. Tom's happiest times were with his family and friends. He would go out of his way to help them in any way he could, and lent a helping hand to many a stranger. He had a generous heart and loved to make people smile. The family would like to thank all the health care providers who looked after Tom over the last few years with special thanks to the staff of the Betel Home and Selkirk General Hospital for their compassion and support. Funeral services will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk on Monday, January 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Church, East Selkirk, Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
