KARL-HEINZ MARTENS On December 28, 2010, Karl-Heinz Martens passed away peacefully at Bethania Personal Care Home at the age of 88. Dad is lovingly remembered by his wife Waltraut, his children Carmen (Harold), Helga, Heidi (Les), Henry (Geri), grandchildren Brenda-Lee (Wil), James (Cheryl), Trevor (Megan), Gary, and great-grandchildren Emily, Evan, Erika and Elizabeth. Born in Germany, and a baker by trade, dad immigrated to Canada in 1953. He enjoyed his garden, his stamp collection and his many carpentry projects. Dad was devoted to his family and friends and to his beloved pets. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethania Personal Care Home for their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Karl's life will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
