Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE A. DODDS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie A. Dodds, peacefully with his loved ones at his side on December 30, 2010 at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 96. Survived by wife Frieda; daughter Joan Spenceley (Ken); son-in-law Terry Barber; grandchildren Kim Still (Stephen), Shelley Smith, Cathy McKinney (Gerry), Warren Spenceley (Vicki); stepdaughters Edith Stewardson, Sigrid Quinn (David); great-grandchildren Sherie, Amie, Dakota, Sabrina and MacKenzie. He will be missed also by many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wives Catherine Dodds (1974) and Mary Dodds (1995); daughters Margaret Barber (Smith) and Lynne Stewart and sons-in-law James Smith and George Stewart. Les was a Pilot Officer. He enlisted with the Canadian Air Force and served with Royal Air Force - Squadron 21 from 1940-1945. His love of flying continued after his RAF service with employment as a bush-pilot with Selkirk Air Services. Les enjoyed his many trips and adventures but especially loved spending time with his family. The family would like to thank the staff of Tower 6 at Deer Lodge Centre for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street with the Rev. Kolleen Karlowsky-Clark officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3 or to a charity of one's choice.
