PAULINE LUND (TACZYNSKI)

PAULINE LUND (nee TACZYNSKI) Peacefully on December 30, 2010, at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB with family by her side, Pauline Lund, aged 93 years of Gypsumville, MB passed away. Pauline was born and raised on the Taczynski homestead. She left home at the young age of 14 to work for families settled along Dauphin River. She met Andreas Lund, were married in 1943 and from this union were blessed with two boys Chris and Richard. They ranched, trapped and fished commercially until the passing of Andreas in 1961. Pauline met Walter Syrotiuk and spent the next 48 years together. In 1990 they sold their cattle but continued to farm grain and worked together on the farm. She loved to grow flowers, garden, raise chickens and do yard work. Pauline was an incredible cook and especially loved family gatherings where she would cook for them all. She was predeceased by her husband Andreas; brothers Fred, Stan, Ceasar, John, Alex; sisters, Pearl Dawyduk, Betty McKenna, Vicky Dowhaniuk and Marie Stille and her daughter-in-law Gloria Lund. Pauline is survived by her partner Walter Syrotiuk; son Chris (Dianne) Lund, grandchildren Sheila (Jason Fox) Lund, great-grandchildren Cody and Carson, grandson Andrew and his fiancée Desi Cordell, great-grandchildren Madison and Andrew, grandson Kevin Lund, grandson Todd (Melanie) Lund; son Richard Lund, grandchildren Mitchell, Richard and Jillian; a sister Sally Sowden along with numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. In keeping with Pauline's wishes, cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern, MB with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. A graveside service will be held at the family plot in the Gypsumville Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of home care services who lovingly cared for Mom for an extended period throughout her later years and to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital for the care Mom received.
