OMER MARCEL RIVARD It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, Omer of St. Eustache, MB on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Remaining to forever cherish Dad's memory are his children Joyce Bublitz, Douglas (Vonnie) Rivard, Beverly (Murray) Thomson, June (Perry ) Rivard, Linda (Rick) Bendeler, Janice (Ed) Blanchard, Cheryl (Rodney) Beaudin, Roxane (Todd) Topham, Bonnie (David) Jackson; 12 grandsons; eight granddaughters; one great-grandson; three great-granddaughters; his brothers Oliver, Lionel, Normand; sisters Irene, Florence and Nicole; as well as numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Bernice, granddaughter Crystal Bendeler, his parents Theophile and Rosina, brothers Lucien and Noel. Dad was born on January 16, 1926 in Winnipeg, MB. He married Bernice on November 8, 1952 and together they raised their nine children. Dad was the jack of all trades as he could do anything. His trade as an iron worker of 30 years took him to various provinces and neighbouring states bringing him to retirement. Dad enjoyed travelling, fishing, watching The Price is Right and the Shooting Star bus tours with Mom by his side. Next to the family, Dad's pride and joy was his yard, numerous flowers and mini garden where you could always find him puttering about. He will be sadly missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 with viewing at 12:00 noon followed by Mass at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church with Father Blanchette and Father Tinguley presiding. Cremation to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
