SOFIE MAYER (nee KOLLER) Suddenly on January 1, 2011, Sofie Mayer, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Mayer, daughter Margarita (Rita) Wolff. She will be greatly missed by her sons Alfred (Irene), Martin (Linda), and Walter, and her son-in-law Manfred Wolff. She is also survived by her grandchildren Thomas (Dawn), Matthew (Monica), Nicholas, and Samantha. Sophie was born in Karlsruhe-Durlach, Germany, and moved to Canada in 1955. Sophie was a member of the Kolping Society. She was an active member at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. During the summer months she enjoyed spending time at Red Rock Lake. She was a resident at Beaconhill Lodge, and the family greatly thanks all staff and everyone on the third floor. Prayers will be said on Thursday, January 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 7, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Mountain and Andrews. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. 586-8044
