MARIA MANIO MUYOT It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Manio Muyot after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Maria passed away on December 30, 2010 at home at the age of 62 years. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Francisco Muyot, children Liberty Muyot, Hector (Jennelyn) Muyot, Norie (Peter) Zollmann, Catherine (Lito) Soriano, Maureen (Edgar) Gomez. Grand-children Minami, Charize, Henry boy, Henson, CJ, Princess, Brian, Jomic, Katkat, Nico, JC, Joshua and Arielle. Brothers Roberto (Letty) Manio, Arturo (Rita) Manio. Half-sisters Rose, Merlyn and half-brother Ricardo as well as many nieces and nephews in the Philippines, Winnipeg, Calgary and California. Brothers-in-Law, Val (Celia) Muyot and Manny (Mercy) Muyot Maria was born in the Philippines, she got married in 1966, had five children, and devoted her time as a full time housewife. She then migrated to Canada in 1993, worked as a garment cleaner at Custom Pleating on Broadway Avenue, then moved to Nygard's other location on Church Avenue. When the company closed down, she spent her time travelling and babysitting her two grand-children in Winnipeg. She kept close to her roots by listening to CKJS Filipino radio station, watching the Filipino Channel and enjoyed cooking traditional Filipino foods. Anyone who knew her knew what a kind, thoughtful, and loving of a person she was. She was very understanding and would not hold a grudge towards anybody. She was a very devoted mother who would do anything for her children, she was a loving wife and best friend of her husband for 44 years. Lamay/ prayer Vigil will be held Friday, January 7, and Saturday, January 8, 2011 commencing at 6:00 p.m. Prayers will be held both evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday January 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street. Monsignor Enrique Samson Jr. Celebrant. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to family and friends for their prayers and support. We also appreciate the care that was provided from the staff of WRS5 Women's Centre and the paramedics, chaplain and ER nurse/doctor of Concordia Hospital. Nanay, our mother, we truly miss you. Our life won't be the same without you. Dad and us, your children will cherish the memories as you are and forever will ALWAYS be our Nanay. A special place in our hearts will remain because of how much we truly and deeply love you.
