JAMES PATRICK MURRAY Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, James passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the age of 76 years. James leaves to mourn his soulmate and love of his life Yvonne of 52 years, his four daughters Marlene, Pauline (Rod), Brenda (Real and his daughters Danielle and Joanne) and Cindy (Bruce), grandchildren Melanie, Kristy, Corey, Melissa, Danny and Jamie, six great-grandchildren whom he called his angels Kayla, Aidan, Hannah-Belle, Keira, Kole and ShaeLynn, siblings Larry, Catherine (Agidius), Bridgit (Winrey) and Maggie (Bill), brothers-in-law James Downey, Roland (Lorraine), Luc (Christine), and Gerald (Leona), sisters-in-law Anne and Juliette (Tom), his mother-in-law Margaret, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Elizabeth, sisters Rosanne and Mary, brother Edward, nephew Eamon, his sister-in-law Laura and his father-in-law Edward. James was born in Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1954 and made his home in Winnipeg. He had a lifetime career in the trucking industry from driving long distance, to dispatching, to driver supervisor with Atomic Transport, where he made lifelong friends. James spent a lot of time helping and volunteering as a Knight of Columbus. At his residence, he was very much involved in the River Garden 2 Social Club. During the summer James could be found spending time at the trailer at the Oasis Trailer Park and going south to Texas during the winter. The most important part of his life was spending time with his loving family. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff from 6E at St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services for their care and compassion. Funeral Mass, officiated by Father Fred Olds, will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Drive. Interment will take place at a later date.
