JEAN MARGARET CROFTS Jean Margaret Crofts, 86, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2011, in the care of Hospice, with her husband of 61 years, Geoffrey, by her side. Jean was born in Winnipeg, one of six girls to David and Susie Gallaugher. She began her family here with Geoffrey and she has brightened the lives of friends and neighbours in California, Massachusetts, Connecticut and finally in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as Geoffrey's former students from around the world. Jean couldn't be in the presence of another person without talking to them. She was the light of her husband's life. She created a wonderful home for her children: Gerald, Barbara Purchase (Barry), and Karen Tyson (Jon). She has four grandchildren, Nicholas Colglazier, Tara Purchase, Kati Soto, and Cody Tyson, and a great-grandson, Rhett Soto. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Jameson of Winnipeg and sister , Betti Gardner of Victoria. Her memorial service will be held at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church, Louisville, KY, on January 15, 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to the Geoffrey Crofts Bursary at University of Manitoba.
