MARLA DAWN HOLDSWORTH March 16, 1970 - December 29, 2010 With much sadness, the family of Marla Holdsworth announces her untimely passing. She is survived by her loving parents, Dennis and Donna Holdsworth, brother Mark (Rosanna), sister Michelle (Gilles), nephews Trent and Carter and niece Dana. But most importantly, her five year old son Dylan. Marla was a vibrant, funny people person with a caring heart and willing to try her hand at anything. She developed an obsession for horses, an obsession that lasted all her life. She would rather be cleaning out barns or riding her horse more than anything else. She was always full of surprises - the best being a little surprise named Dylan Thomas Byer that she brought into our lives. Marla was in sales in the pet food industry and worked out of Calgary for years before moving back to Manitoba with her little Dylan. She lived in Gimli for a short time before moving into Winnipeg to work for the Yellow Pages Group. However, our bright, funloving, spunky girl's life began to unravel and spiral downward when depression raised its ugly head, and try as we might, we could not help our beloved daughter. Many thanks to her friends and neighbours who tried to help, to Daddy Tom Byer, the Herr family in Strathmore who so kindly understood her plight, and to the RCMP who aided in the search for our beautiful girl. You were all so kind and understanding. Marla, you are now an Angel Mommy - a star in the sky shining down on your little Dylan. You are much loved and very much missed and we thank you for the years you were able to give us. Rest in peace dear Marla. Your struggle is over ... and now you can talk to the trees, wherever you may be. A memorial service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gimli CIBC in care of a Trust fund for Dylan Byer.
