Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETTY) BUGGEY October 27, 1908 - December 12, 2010 Beloved mother, wife and friend, Betty passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital at age 102. Daughter of John C and Aldythe Holden, she lived her whole life in Winnipeg. Betty attended Rupert's Land (Balmoral Hall) and the Manitoba Agricultural College (University of Manitoba). While working at the Bank of Commerce, she met and in 1938 married E. Whitney Buggey, her husband and soulmate for 56 years. Betty's warm heart and gracious manner always placed the needs of others before her own. She had a genuine interest in those around her, and was always quick to share her winning smile. With a keen sense of humour and unfailing good cheer, matched only by her great strength and determination, she was an inspiration to all who had the opportunity to spend time with her. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Buggey of Ottawa and Linda Rigby of Calgary; grandsons, Nigel S. Rigby (Vanessa) of Stockton, CA and Graham S. Rigby (Kristen) of Delta, BC; great-grandson Rowan Alexander Rigby of Delta; niece Dr. JoAnne Buggey of Minneapolis, MN, and nephew D. Whitney Buggey (Patricia) of Vernon, BC. We offer warm thanks to Wendy Elcomb for the rich friendship she brought to Betty's life during the past year. The family thanks the exceptional staff at Thorvaldson Care Centre, the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg and the Victoria General Hospital for their dedicated care during Betty's last years. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to the Betty (Holden) Buggey Scholarship at Balmoral Hall School, 630 Westminster Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3S1 or a charity of their choice. A memorial service will take place at Westminster United Church, Maryland at Westminster, on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
