KATHERINE KOSTECKI Peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Dauphin Personal Care Home, Katherine Kostecki passed away at the age of 97 years. Katherine was born to Joseph and Frances (Sopiwnyk) Kostecki on April 15, 1913 at 82 Tissot Street, St. Boniface, MB. Predeceased by parents, sisters Rose Kropelnicki, Mary Curle, Anna Kostecki; brother Harry Kostecki; brothers-in-law, Joseph Kropelnicki, Bert Curle and nephew George Curle. Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law Muriel Kostecki; 14 nieces and nephews from the Curle, Kropelnicki and Kostecki families as well as many great, some great-great and a few great-great-great nieces and nephews. Katherine was very proud of her time served with the Canadian Army overseas in the United Kingdom and continental Europe from June 1943 to August 1946. Katherine spent the greater part of her life living and working in Winnipeg. Due to declining health she resided at the Dauphin Personal Care Home for the past three years. Her beautiful smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held and her remains are to be interred at the foot of her parents' grave in Dauphin.
