Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR HUGH MCDOWELL June 24, 1915 - December 27, 2010 Suddenly and with great sadness we announce the passing of Art. He was predeceased by the love of his life Agnes (66 years married), son Tom and daughter-in-law Dale, three brothers, Jack (Tess), Bill (Florence), Bob (Jean). He is survived by his son Donald and daughter-in-law Jean; six grandchildren and eight great-grandkids and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Lawson for his time spent with Dad. Art was employed by the C.N.R. starting at the Fort Garry Hotel in 1938, Fort Rouge Power House and Central Heating Plant at The Forks as a power engineer until his retirement in 1975. Art enjoyed his curling at Fort Rouge Curling Club and the Seniors Cribbage Club. In the summer he lawn bowled at River Heights and Tuxedo, representing Manitoba on a number of occasions in doubles and teams. He spent his winters in California and summers at the cottage at Grand Beach. He enjoyed his long walks, healthy and active life style that allowed him independence at Fred Douglas Place up to his passing. In accordance with Art's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Art's memory to a charity of your choice.
