JUNE CULLEN Peacefully with family and friends by her side, Mom passed away at the Grace Hospital on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Colleen and granddaughter Kate, her son Tim and step-grandsons Jason and Sean and step-great-grand kids Jorja and Ethan. June lost her husband John in 1964, her brother Luther in 1978 and just lost her daughter-in-law Kathy. June grew up in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on the family farm. After going to University in Saskatoon June met John in Flin Flon, Manitoba where they married, had Colleen and Tim and in 1958 they moved to Winnipeg. In 1965 after John passed away, June started to work at the Winnipeg School Division 1 and four years later was teaching at Grant Park High School. For the next 30 years June taught at Grant Park, she enjoyed teaching the kids everyday and remained friends with many of the staff till her passing. June retired in 1995 and enjoyed her home and family. After an extended Hospital stay, June moved to the Portsmouth Retirement Home, where she was surrounded by great staff and wonderful friends. She cared for you all so very much! Mom was a special person, she never had a harsh word for anyone, instead she always tried to find the good in everyone. It became her most endearing trait and allowed her to have so many friends from so many different backgrounds. Young and old, she will be missed by all! A very special thank you to all the staff at the Grace Hospital who made Mom's passing easier for us and especially Dr. Kumar for his friendship and guidance through a difficult time. Funeral Service will be held at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave, Winnipeg, MB, on Thursday January 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0Z9 For online condolences or to light a memorial candle please log onto www.mosaicfunerals.ca 1839 Inkster Blvd. 275-5555

I am fondly thinking of The Honourable Cliff Cullen in loving memory of a gentle and kind lady who substituted for my teachers in the math and social studies courses I successfully completed at the vocational institution that I was educated in grade seven. - Posted by: Philip () on: Jan 11, 2022
