Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE (MOE) SCHAUBROECK It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Maurice on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 84 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Patsy (née Dolores Doiron), father of Gerry (Cathy), Richard, Albert, Gilbert (Cecilia), Marguerite (Albé Jr.), and Bernadette (Doug), he also leaves to mourn him his grandchildren Liane and Simon, Sarah, Matt, and Tim, Jeremy, Josh, Jordan, and Jacqueline, Lucille, Julie (Chris), Rhéal, Luc, Eric, and David, Melanie, Patrick, and Stephanie. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Denis (Lorraine), Gilles (Eleanor), Florence, Eveline (Oscar), Soeur Rachel, f.d.l.c., Gertrude (Laurent), Norman, Juliette, Camille (Denise); his sisters-in-law Florence, Toots and brother-in-law Leonard (Andrée) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Archie and Thérèse Schaubroeck, his mother and father-in-law Edna and Alphonse Doiron, daughter-in-law Rachel Massicotte, brother Armand, sister-in-law Rose, brothers-in-law Gabriel, Homer and George-Aimé. Dad was born on October 11, 1926 on the family farm in LaSalle, Manitoba to Archie and Thérèse Schaubroeck. He married the love of his life Patsy on September 22, 1951 and together they raised six children. Dad was a thoughtful, caring and spiritual man. His easy smile, twinkling brown eyes, and compassionate manner endeared him to all. His real mission in life was to care for others: for his family first, for his customers at Modern Dairies, for his church community, his neighbours on Bertrand Street, his new neighbours and friends at Foyer Vincent, and anyone who needed a helping hand. He and Patsy spent many years visiting relatives and friends at Taché Centre bringing them joy and comfort. Maurice enjoyed baseball, hockey, horseshoes but most of all golfing and bowling with his sons and great friend George. He spent many evenings sitting in the veranda on Bertrand Street playing solitaire, doing his puzzles, or playing bataille with his grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all of the staff on 3 East at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion. You were like family to us. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Précieux-Sang Parish, 200 Kenny Street. A private family interment will take place in La Salle, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
