NETTIE JOHNSON Peacefully, on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 with her loving family by her side, Nettie Johnson passed away at Tuxedo Villa in her 97th year. Nettie is survived by her daughter Lauranne Ferber, daughter-in-law Edna Johnson, grandchildren Bryan (Marni), Jennifer, Michael, Mary (Phil) and Marcy (Ken) and her three great-grandchildren, Alycia, Rachel and Andi. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Johnson, parents Andrew and Victoria Malarski, her son Victor Johnson and her son-in-law Bob Ferber. Nettie was born in Winnipeg, on July 18, 1913 and lived in the city her entire life. She married Victor Johnson in 1939. She worked at Canada Post before her retirement. She was a kind, fun and adventurous person and lived for her family. She created many wonderful memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her cabin at Grand Beach and frequent trips to the casino. The family would like to thank all the nurses, health care aides and other staff of station 2 at Tuxedo Villa who cared for Nettie during her stay there. A celebration of Nettie's life will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery.)
