ROSE DEMSKI On January 1, 2011, in the early evening, Rose Demski, at the age of 81 years, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface General Hospital. When we lose the ones we love it's as if we lose a part of ourselves. Keep Mom's strength, love, kindness and sense of humour in your heart as we move forward without her. Rose was born in McCreary, Manitoba on November 12, 1929, daughter of August and Joanne Elnicki. Mom grew up and helped out on the family farm near Glenella, Manitoba, before moving to Winnipeg. Mom married John Demski in 1950 and together Mom and Dad raised five children, Gordon (Kathy), Richard (Charlene), Janice (Russell) McCort, Brenda (Rick) Stefanko, and Daniel. They also had eight grandchildren, Paul, Adam, David, Melanie, Alix-Rae, Julia, Wesley and Jacquelyn. Mom was predeceased by Dad, Gordon, Charlene and Paul. Mom will also be fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters, Joe (Mary), Edna Muzyczka, Joyce White, Mary Pennell, Stanley, Elsie (Lou) Barrie and Sophie (Bill) McDonald, and sister-in-law, Jean Sawchuk. Dad passed away November 22, 2003, and Mom was able to remain at home until the last couple of weeks of her illness. Mom continued to look after their home and the yard and garden in her caring and loving manner. Dad was certainly smiling down at her as she was tending to the perennials, chasing the rabbits out of the garden, picking fresh raspberries, or admiring the tomatoes as they grew. In accordance with Mom's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A special thank you to Mom's Home Care nurse, Lana, and to all the doctors and nurses who cared for Mom during her stay at the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Mom, you can now Rest in Peace . We love you.
