Date of Passing: Jan 06, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT NORMAN WOYCHUK With great sadness the family announces the passing of Robert Woychuk on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at St. Boniface Hospital. Robert's peaceful death came after a courageous battle or recovery following a severely debilitating stroke in 1996. The stroke was a precursor to other health related problems and lengthy hospital admissions, including a major heart attack in 2008. In his loving memory, he is survived by his wife Elaine, only son Ryan (Linda), brother Stan and father Bill Woychuk. He also leaves behind first cousins Jim, Sally, Herb, Margaret, Ted and Ed Woychuk; brother-in-law Ernie Michaleski (Elaine); mother-in-law Stella Michaleski ; and, god-child Deanna Tellier (nee Michaleski) (Marc); . He was predeceased by his loving mother Mary Woychuk (nee Shymkiw). He will also be remembered by his close friends and coworkers. Robert grew up on a farm in Skylake, MB where he developed his passion for the outdoors and agriculture. The characteristically hard labour involved with farm life etched out a man that later demonstrated a strong work ethic in both his personal and professional life. He was known as a person that was always altruistically willing to help friends, family and coworkers when needed. His assistance came with a consistent dry humor. In 1971, Robert married the love of his life and best friend, Elaine whom spent the majority of their marriage tirelessly dedicated to helping with his recovery. He found his passion in life employed as a Water Quality Chemist with the Federal Government. A private viewing will be held for immediate family and friends on Monday, January 10 at 3:30 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home located at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
