JOHN ELBERT WILSON A wonderful life has ended and a new journey has begun! John passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at Concordia Hospital on January 7, 2011. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Pat; stepchildren: Brad (Jacinta), Sandra (Saul), Heather, Nancy (Gerald) and Margaret (Cec); grandchildren, Kevin, Cesar, Brandon, numerous nieces, nephews and great-grand-children. He was predeceased by his immediate Wilson clan. John was born in Bracken, Saskatchewan on August 3, 1932 and moved to Deloraine, MB in 1950 and resided there until he moved to Winnipeg in the early 1960s. John was a long distance truck driver with North American Van Lines. He became a self-employed owner / operator until his retirement in the 1990s. To keep his hands on the wheel, he drove for Winnipeg Auto Auction for a number of years in his retirement. John was lucky to find his soulmate Pat and they spent many years opening their home to family and friends. He was the life of the party with a quick comeback or a laugh. His life's pleasures were family, friends, bowling: five pin and lawn, wood working, cheering Go Blue Jays and his treasured computer where he spent many hours. John could always be counted on to lend a helping hand in times of need. A celebration of John's life will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. The family would like to thank Dr. P. Harris, Oncology and Emergency staff at Concordia Hospital. A special thanks to Tara Keyser at the PRIME Program at Deer Lodge Centre. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CancerCare of Manitoba or the Stroke Foundation. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
