GIUSEPPE (JOE) VIZZA 1929 - 2011 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Dad, Giuseppe (Joe) Vizza, at the age of 81 at Concordia Hospital on Friday, January 7, 2011. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Ada, his son Carmine (Gisele), his daughter Patrizia (Kevin) and grand-children, Jesse, Alyssa, Amanda, Daniel, and step-grandson Riley Slominsky. He is survived in Winnipeg by his brother Mario (Lina) Vizza and sister Maria (Jim) Altomare. Surviving Dad in Italy are his brothers and sisters: Pietro (Assunta), Santina (Giovanni), Luigi (Piera), and Dora (Alberto). Dad is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Manitoba, Italy and Australia. Dad was born in Rogliano, Italy on December 25, 1929 as the second child of Carmine and Elvira Vizza. He immigrated to Canada in February of 1965 where he married the love of his life, Ada Sacchetta, on January 7, 1967, 44 years to the day of his passing. Dad especially loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. His passions in life were his garden and his love of wine making, of which he was always ready to share in a glass or two. Dad was so loving, and generous. He was always there to lend a hand to his family, friends and neighbours. Dad was a dedicated Catholic and attended mass every Sunday morning at Blessed Sacrament in Transcona. Dad began his working life in Canada at Catelli and then moved to Griffin Steel in 1971, from where he retired after a lengthy career in 1999. Dad, we'll always remember your special smile, your caring heart, your warm embrace. We'll always cherish you Dad, as there will never be another to replace you in our hearts. Our love for you is eternal. La tua morte inattesa e rapida lascia un gran vuoto fra tutti coloro che ti amarono. Nel loro animo sara sempre vivo il suo ricordo. Funeral Service will take place Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 710 Roanoke Street. Flowers are gratefully declined. We encourage donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the charity of one's choice.
