Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS GWENDOLINE HOBBS (GWEN) 1925 - 2011 Peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2011 Gwen passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Brian and Alan; daughter Peggy (Allan); granddaughter Ivy Lynn, sisters Florence, nephews Harley and Stuart; Ethel (Jack), nieces Patty, Betty, Karen and Susan; and Ruth, nephew Bill and nieces Gwen, Haroldene, Sharon, Kim and Valerie; sister-in-law Mildred Ingram of North Vancouver, niece Alison (Scott) and son Mitchell. Gwen was employed by the City of Winnipeg, as a teller. She was a member of the Kildonan United Church, belonging to the UCW. Gwen was a Cub Leader of the 35th Cub pack for the Seven Oaks District. She was a founding member of the Pioneer Partners, member of McBeth House. Gwen's passions in life were her family and friends, especially the pride and joy of her life, Ivy Lynn, whom she loved to sew and knit for. Gwen also loved to bowl and spending summers at the cabin with Harold and her family. Special thanks to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their compassionate care of our mother over the past several years. Also a special thanks to Dr. Lam and Dr. Boyd at the Health Sciences Centre. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Avenue. Private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Gwen's name to the Kildonan United Church or a charity of one's choice.
