GLORIA MOODIE (nee HILL) After a short but difficult battle with cancer, Gloria passed away at home in Selkirk, MB, with her husband at her side on January 10, 2011 at the age of 57 years. Born January 22, 1953 in Winnipeg, she lived her life in Winnipeg, Selkirk and Mission, Texas. Gloria leaves behind her husband and high school sweetheart, Peter Moodie; daughter Shawna Moodie (Jenn); brothers Jim Hill (Terri) and Martin Hill; sister Pat Kluczkowski (Wayne); sisters-in-law Angela Moodie (Frank), Charlene Birdsall (Rick), Darlene Sill (Jack); nieces Kelly Sutyla (Paul Doyle), Michelle Shuel (James), Alexis Birdsall and Deborah Shreiber; and nephew Calvin Birdsall. She also leaves behind many friends. Gloria was predeceased by her mother, Hilda Hill, father James Bud Hill, sister Lenore Sutyla, brother-in-law Orest Clutch Kluczkowski, and mother-in-law Mary Moodie. Gloria was happiest helping others and she has a long history volunteering and fund raising for charity. She was involved with the Jaycettes, Kinsmen, Heart and Stroke, and many other organizations and programs. She was also in her element as a leader, both officially in her work with the Census and Taxation, and unofficially in her volunteer work and personal life. She has left a lasting impact on those whom she helped throughout the years. Gloria had a love of travel and in the past few years enjoyed her time as a Winter Texan in a retirement community in Mission, Texas. She also had a love of animals and will be sadly missed by her family dog, Daisy. The family would like to thank the friends, family, neighbours and community who have shown their support during this difficult time. Respecting Gloria's wishes, no funeral or service will be held and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gloria Moodie can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Alternately, carry on Gloria's legacy and give some of your time volunteering for a cause that you find worthwhile. Although our time on earth can be short, we can make a lasting impact on others. Seasons Funeral Service, Oakbank, in charge of arrangements.

I was speaking with our friend Thuraya earlier and she told me of your passing. Gloria.....Goo, I have the fondest of memories many, many, years ago in Winnipeg on Grosvenor. Parties and gatherings with our friends from the sugar shack. Your Mom was always very patient with us, loud music et al. Victoria Beach with some of the girls, our reunion of friends, pictures provided by you and lastly, Diana Ross. Although, much too young my friend I am certain you are sharing your kindness with those in need. Pattie McLean - Posted by: Pattie McLean (Friend) on: Jun 21, 2013
