LESLIE W. PARSONS 1921 - 2011 Peacefully and surrounded by family, Les passed away on Sunday, January 9, at Deer Lodge Centre. Les was the youngest son of Harry and Mary Parsons. In addition to his parents, Les was predeceased by Hazel, his wife and soulmate for 52 years, as well as siblings Fred, Jack, Frank (Grace) and Edna Knight. Left with fond memories are his sons Gary (Carolyn) and Terry (Leslie), his grandchildren Erin, Lauren, Kevin, Colin and Keith, sisters-in-law Edna Parsons and Clara Savard, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Les served his country in the Second World War as a corporal in the 3rd Division Ammunition Company. He then worked his entire career at Brown and Rutherford on Sutherland Avenue. Les and Hazel shared a special life together in their home on Queen Street. Les could build or fix almost anything and their garden looked like a park. Hazel's passing in 2002 left a very challenging void in Les' life. Things were never the same without his Hazie. The family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to the staff of T6 at Deer Lodge Centre. Many of the staff were like family to Les, and the care and compassion that they provided during his final days helped all of us to get through this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Les' memory to a charity of one's choice. As per Les' wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
