SHIRLEY MAE AAB (nee Panting) Peacefully after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease, Shirley Aab passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital on January 11, 2011 at the age of 78 years. Shirley will be forever missed by her loving husband of 57 years Edward; her two sons, Jim (Patti) and Don (Cheryl); grandchildren Kevin (Cathy), Curtis (Allison), Lisa, and Kelly; great grandson Landon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Shirley was a wonderful, sweet, and caring woman. She devoted her life to her husband, her children and grandchildren. She was the most loving of people and was what most of us can only aspire to be. She was never hurtful to anyone. She enjoyed every aspect of being a mother and grandmother and wrote loving poems about her life and family. She took pleasure in the simple things in life, time spent with her family, her many pet cats, or even a good bowling score. She spent many wonderful years at the family cottage in Ponemah. We will miss her gentle manner, loving smiles and hugs. The family would like to thank the staff of the Maples Personal Care Home for caring for Shirley for over three years. They were considerate and friendly and would often get a big smile from her by just saying Hi. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Seven Oaks Hospital on 3U7 and 3U4 in caring for Shirley at the end of her life. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
