ROBERT NORMAN (BOB) DAVIDSON March 26, 1927 - January 13, 2011 It is with much sadness, that our husband, father and grandfather, Robert Norman Davidson passed away in the early hours of January 13, 2011 at Deer Lodge Centre. Left to mourn is Bob's wife Ann, of 59 years; son Barry Davidson (Debbie); daughter Beverly Enns (Ron); and grandson Josh, who meant the world to his papa . Also left to mourn are Verna Davidson and family of Calgary, and niece Lisa Macintyre and family of Winnipeg. Dad was predeceased by his brothers, Alex Davidson of Lambeth, Ontario and Knox B. Davidson of Calgary. Robert or Bob as often fondly called, was the son of a Presbyterian minister, Bert Davidson and mother Helen (nee Guthrie) Davidson who worked at the Tribune newspaper. Dad contracted polio at the young age of two, which left him with a slight limp in his leg, all of his life. It was difficult for Dad in his early years to be athletic like his peers because of the polio, so Dad made it up with getting top marks in school, and later, a successful businessman. Dad attended school in Winnipeg, The Pas and Ignace, Ontario. Dad worked for the University of Manitoba in the chemistry lab and also the purchasing department. Later on, Dad went to Great West Saddelry as a sales rep, and then lastly, joined Christie Biscuits in 1954, where he remained until his retirement in 1989. Dad was a member of Assiniboia Lodge #49 Regina, a Scottish Rite member of Valley of Winnipeg and Khartum Temple Shriners. Dad kept busy and independent with his wife Ann, right up until a massive stroke last July 2010. Dad spent five months at the Grace Hospital endearing many nurses and aides with his incredible smile. The care Dad received was exceptional, and our family will always be grateful to floor three south. Always one for looking for positives in any situation, Dad was our rock, best friend and will continue to inspire us all. Today was the saddest day for us. We lost our best friend. We will miss our talks. Until we meet again Dad, we love you, and Toodle-Loo. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
