MELVIN PETER KARTUSCH It is with immense sadness that we announce Melvin Peter Kartusch passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the age of 68 years. Left behind to cherish Mel's memory are his beloved wife Judy of 44 years of marriage; son Mel (Margo); their two boys Owen and Adam; son Cory (Shawna); their daughters Addison and Reese; sister Julie Merth (Donald); brother Wayne Kartusch (Myrna); sisters-in-law Stella Novak and Doreen Ludwar; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Angela Kartusch; parents-in-law Katherine and Anthony Ludwar; and brother-in-law Allan Ludwar. Mel was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, and throughout his career in education he was employed by the Separate School system, Bosco Homes and the Buffalo Plains school system (Lumsden Elementary). He loved his career and worked tirelessly at providing a positive atmosphere for both students and staff, and stood strong for what he believed in. Throughout Mel's life he lived an active lifestyle playing hockey, slo-pitch with his teammates, fishing with his friends and family and cross country skiing. In his retirement he loved working out at the gym, early morning badminton and renewed his passion for golf. When time permitted, Mel loved going on long walks and watching sporting events, especially his beloved Montreal Canadiens. Mel loved having fun entertaining his colleagues, teammates, family and friends. He will be most remembered for the love and life he shared with his family. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, 2636 7th Avenue East, Regina, Saskatchewan, with Rev. Fr.
